What this policy covers
PECR (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) together with the UK GDPR require an opt-in before anything beyond strictly necessary storage is placed on your device. Below is the full list, plus the way to revise an earlier answer.
Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | When used | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Keeps your banner answer so you are not asked on every page. | Always on (exempt under PECR as strictly necessary) | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Totals of visits per page, never tied to a named person. | Only with your consent | Up to 13 months |
| Advertising / affiliate | Ties a completed reservation back to the link that sent the visitor. | Only with your consent; off when a GPC signal is present | Set by the partner, usually 30 days or less |
Global Privacy Control
Browsers with GPC switched on are treated as having said no to advertising and affiliate storage. Pressing Accept All does not override that flag.
Changing your choice
Reopen the panel with this control (a copy sits at the foot of each page). Wiping stored site data through your browser erases the saved answer too, which brings the banner back.
